🧪 Why Are CE-Certified Coveralls Reliable?

A CE-certified protective coverall is not only about design or appearance.
Its fabric must pass strict tests to make sure it can handle real working conditions.

One important test is Flex Cracking Resistance.

During work, coveralls move with the body — bending, squatting, stretching, and reaching.
If the fabric cracks after repeated movement, protection may be reduced.

🔬 Test Method: EN ISO 7854 Method B
The fabric is clamped and flexed repeatedly to see when cracks appear.

Results are classified from Class 1 to Class 6.
For example, if the fabric withstands 1,000 flexing cycles without cracking, it reaches Class 1.

Small test, big meaning:
protective clothing must stay reliable while workers are moving.

🦠 When Facing Ebola, Full-Body Protection Matters
Last week, we talked about hantavirus, a dangerous virus carried by rodents.

Now, another serious disease is making global headlines.

On May 17, WHO determined that the Ebola disease outbreak caused by Bundibugyo virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

Ebola can spread through direct contact with infected body fluids, such as blood, vomit, and f***s.
The average fatality rate is around 50%, depending on the virus species and available care.

When dealing with Ebola, many types of PPE are needed.
As a protective clothing specialist, we will focus on one important layer:

🧥 Disposable coveralls.

A suitable coverall should:
✔️ Provide full-body coverage
✔️ Protect you from biological hazards, create a barrier against contaminated fluids and materials
✔️ Lower the risk of cross-contamination when properly removed

For highly infectious diseases, protection is not only "wear as protective as you could",
it is also about how you wear it, how you remove it, and whether the coverall matches the risk.
Properly protect yourself, and Act Without Fear!

The agency added that the outbreak, with around 246 cases and 80 deaths, does not meet the criteria of pandemic emergency.

🐭 Hantavirus Is Back in the Spotlight — Don’t Overlook Protection During Cleanup

Hantavirus has recently gained attention due to the MV Hondius cruise ship incident. While related cases are still under investigation, it reminds us that even rare viruses should not be ignored when contaminated environments are involved.

🐭Hantavirus is carried by rodents and may spread through urine, droppings, saliva, or contaminated dust.
When cleaning rodent traces in warehouses, garages, vacant buildings, or office corners, avoid dry sweeping, vacuuming, or high-pressure washing, as these actions may send contaminated dust into the air.

💨Before cleaning, ventilate the area and wet contaminated materials with bleach or a suitable disinfectant before wiping them away.

For higher-risk cleanup tasks, proper PPE is essential:

🧥 Disposable coveralls — help prevent contaminants from contacting skin or inner clothing
🧤 Protective gloves — reduce hand contact with rodent waste and nesting materials
👓 Goggles or face shield — protect the eyes from splashes
🥾 Rubber boots or shoe/boot covers — help avoid spreading contamination
😷 Respiratory protection — reduce inhalation risk in dusty or poorly ventilated areas

When using disposable coveralls, remember:

✔ Choose coveralls that provide a barrier against biological hazards
✔ Remove and dispose of them properly after the task to reduce cross-contamination

Clean safely. Protect yourself first.

🦸‍♂️ The Real Hero Behind Protective Coveralls

When we talk about protective clothing, most people focus on the design, color, or model.

But the real protection doesn’t come from all that, it comes from the fabric itself.

Here are 3 of the most common materials used in protective coveralls:

🪶 SMS (Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond)
✔ Lightweight and breathable
✔ Suitable for dust and light liquid protection

👉 Your everyday, basic protection

🪶🔰 Microporous Film
✔ Blocks liquids and fine particles
✔ Still allows airflow

👉 A balance between protection and comfort, the most widely applied fabric for coverall

🔰PE Coated Fabric
✔ External barrier against hazardous chemicals
✔ Strong protection against liquid jet

👉 Built for more demanding environments

👷‍♂️ Simple Protection. Real Applications.

Not every task requires the highest level of protection —
sometimes, what matters most is practical, breathable, and reliable coverage.

That’s where ULTITEC 1000L comes in.

🔹 Basic protection for low-risk environments
🔹 Breathable material for better comfort during long working hours
🔹 Highly practical for everyday industrial tasks

Because of this balance, ULTITEC 1000L is widely used across multiple industries — especially in:

⚙️ Metal Industry - Protection during metal polishing, grinding, and operations in high-temperature environments.
⚡ Power Plants - Used for boiler maintenance, coal ash cleaning, and routine maintenance in coal-fired power plants.
🏭 General Manufacturing - Protect against dust, wood chips, and light chemical liquids.

Headache choosing a coverall? 4 steps to pick your perfect armor! 🛡️

Selecting protective clothing isn't just about the most expensive one; it's about choosing the right one for true safety! Follow ULTITEC's simple 4 steps to find your best protective gear:

📍 Step 1: Identify hazards in your workplace

Are you facing dry particles, chemical liquid splashes, or biological hazards? Figure out what "hazards" you are facing first.

📍 Step 2: Understand CE Protection Levels (Type) Choose the right certification based on your risks

💨Dry particles: Type 5
💦Liquid: Type 3 & Type4 & Type 6 (depends on the form of liquid)

📍 Step 3: Check Chemical Permeation Data

Chemicals can silently pass through fabrics without visible holes! Check out the chemical permeation data to make sure you are safe.

📍 Step 4: Check for Additional Standards Besides chemicals
Such as:
⚡Antistatic (EN 1149-5)
🔥Limited Flame Spread (EN ISO 14116)
🦠Biological Hazard Protection (EN 14126)

🤔If you think it is too complicated, ULTITEC has a simple solution for you.

☢️ Do Radiation Suits Really Block Radiation?

When people hear “radiation suit,”
many assume it can block all kinds of radiation.

But in reality, most radiation suits are designed to protect against radioactive contamination — not penetrating radiation like gamma rays.

👉 So what do they actually do?

✔️ Prevent radioactive particles from contacting your skin
✔️ Reduce the risk of contamination spreading
✔️ Protect frontline workers during cleanup and handling tasks

Understanding the difference is key to choosing the right protection.

👉 Want a simple explanation of how radiation suits work?
Read more here:

What is a radiation suit? Learn how radiation suits help protect against radioactive contamination, what EN 1073-2 means, and how to choose the right coverall.

🧪 CE vs. US Hazmat Levels — What’s the Difference?

Most of the time, we talk about CE-certified coveralls —
because they are among the most detailed and rigorous standards for protective clothing.

But in many real situations,
👉 people are actually more familiar with the US Hazmat Levels (A, B, C, D).

So what’s the difference?

🔹 CE Standards (Type 1–6)
Focus on the performance of the garment itself
(e.g. particles, liquid spray, chemical splash, or jets)

🔹 US Hazmat Levels (A–D)
Focus on the how to cope with the environment, including
protective clothing + respirator + full PPE setup

👉 In short:
CE = focuses more on the coverall itself, such as the material & garment performance
US Levels = focuses more on the environment and the PPE solution, instead of the coverall itself

Both approaches serve important purposes, and each is useful depending on the situation.

But when you need a clearer understanding of what a coverall can actually protect against,
a more detailed classification and testing framework can often support more precise decision-making.
