🚀【Macaran Rocket Taiwan Cup Project - Phase 3】

規劃未來火箭競賽挑戰組用的固態火箭推進系統 Pioneer-50K 第一次地面測試完成！

這具由本校前瞻火箭研究中心、太空系統工程研究所、機械工程學系、以及ARRC實習生共同研發的固態推進系統，將應用於今年台灣盃火箭競賽表演組SST3火箭，目標進行9公里以上高空飛行測試，並為明年競賽提供更多元的推進系統選擇。我們今年七月旭海見！🚀

The first ground test of the Pioneer-50K solid rocket propulsion system, developed for future Rocket Taiwan Cup, has been successfully completed!

This solid rocket motor was jointly developed by Advanced Rocket Research Center, Institute of Space Systems Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and ARRC interns. It will be integrated into the SST3 rocket for this year’s Rocket Taiwan Cup exhibition category, with the goal of conducting a high-altitude flight test above 9 km and providing more diverse propulsion options for next year’s competition. Balloon Popping Challenge!

火箭導控競賽開放報名中！

參賽者需開發 Python 軟體，自主控制配備推力向量控制（TVC）系統的火箭，在模擬環境中戳破散佈於天空中的氣球
​
競賽平台基於開源火箭模擬器 ActiveRocketPy 開發，由參賽隊伍撰寫 GNC（導引、導航與控制）演算法，在充滿感測器雜訊與風場干擾的模擬環境中，決定火箭何時發射、如何飛行，並多多命中隨機釋放的 100 顆氣球。

競賽報名至八月底截止，在那之前，會有五場線上技術交流會，協助參賽者掌握軟體操作與演算法開發，有興趣的都歡迎來交流！

International Rocket GNC Software Design Competition

Balloon Popping Challenge — Registration Now Open!

Participants are required to develop Python-based software to autonomously control a rocket equipped with a Thrust Vector Control (TVC) system, with the mission of popping balloons scattered across the sky in a simulated environment.

The competition platform is built on ActiveRocketPy, an open-source rocket simulator. Teams will develop their own GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) algorithms to determine when the rocket should launch, how it should fly, and how to successfully hit as many of the 100 randomly released balloons as possible within a simulation environment filled with sensor noise and wind disturbances.

Registration is open until the end of August. Before then, five online technical workshops will be held to help participants become familiar with the software platform and algorithm development process. Anyone interested is welcome to join and exchange ideas!

配合新竹縣2026年太空科學培育計畫，陽明交通大學ARRC與 NYCU UAV Team 團隊協助規劃了五週課程，並以參加明年台灣盃火箭競賽為目標，培育指導新竹縣 六家高中 與 湖口高中 師生火箭工程領域相關基礎知識。
課程內容除了基礎教學與實作外，也包含了 iSSE - 國立陽明交通大學 太空系統工程研究所 火箭系統整合實驗室與 ASARe Lab Aerospace Fusion Studio (AFS)的導覽參訪。
以期培育更多火箭、太空與跨領域人才。

【液態火箭引擎計畫 | Regenerative Cooling-2】
再生冷卻是液態火箭引擎的常見設計方案，我們使用自行開發的再生冷卻最佳化演算法進行設計，透過金屬3D列印進行製作。初步的短時間測試已顯現出有再生冷卻與無再生冷卻區域的顯著差異，將依據結果調整設計，進行更長時間的地面靜態推力測試。

In liquid rocket engines, regenerative cooling is a common design used to maintain the structural integrity of the combustion chamber and nozzle. We utilized a self-developed optimization algorithm for the regenerative cooling design and fabricated the components using metal 3D printing technology. Preliminary short-term hot-fire testing has highlighted significant thermal disparities between regions with and without regenerative cooling, which will inform design refinements intended for upcoming extended-duration hot-fire tests.

齊心五載，榮耀百卅
明日4/11是交通大學130週年校慶與機械工程學系50週年的系慶活動。
前瞻火箭研究中心在陽明交大光復校區浩然圖書館也一同參與了工程魂養成回顧特展，火箭單元展示了從2008年開始的交大火箭發展歷程，以及從未公開過的HTTP-1~HTTP-2研發期間探空火箭紀錄短片。
而當天上午的博愛校區巡禮活動，10~11點會在博愛校區最老的館舍之一"實驗一館"與太空系統工程研究所一起開箱實驗室，前瞻火箭研究中心將開放全新整理的火箭系統整合測試實驗室。

【Can you control a rocket 🚀 to pop balloons 🎈?】

Announcing Balloon Popping Challenge: We are hosting an international rocket GNC software design competition with 國家太空中心 TASA . Participants will develop autonomous GNC agents for a rocket in a Python simulator. The goal is to pop scattered balloons in the sky by controlling a TVC-equipped throttleable rocket. All techniques are encouraged, including classic/modern/optimal control, as well as machine/reinforcement learning.

The 3-5 teams with the best-performing algorithms will present and live-demo their agents at Taiwan International Assembly of Space Science, Technology, and Industry (TASTI) 2026. The winner agent gets a prize of 50,000 NTD!

【液態火箭引擎計畫 | Regenerative Cooling】

再生冷卻是液態火箭引擎的常見設計方案，透過火箭推進劑流經燃燒室與噴嘴內的冷卻流道，以避免燃燒室高溫對金屬結構的影響，達到更穩定的引擎長時間燃燒推進效益。

In liquid rocket engines, regenerative cooling is a standard design used to maintain structural integrity. This technique routes the propellant through channels surrounding the combustion chamber and nozzle to absorb heat, thereby preventing thermal degradation of the metal and enabling prolonged, stable combustion performance.
