Who we are:

MAUD was founded in 2014, employing a team of 25 forward-thinking architects, visionary urbanists, and environmental technologists. The firm

is spearheaded by British-educated, Taiwanese-born Managing Director, Max Chimin Yang. What do we do:

MAUD offer services and extensive expertise in our capacity of master-planning for the future, architectural, landscape and interior design, corporate branding, and furniture design. We aim to challenge the existing principles of modern architecture and build for the 21st century. Where we operate:

MAUD operates commercial and private projects throughout South East Asia and Europe, however, we always have an open mind for projects beyond those borders.

Industrial factory-office buildings are evolving into integrated systems that combine corporate identity, efficiency, and adaptability. BCIP responds at the masterplan scale, organizing 24 units into four zones defined by distinct facade typologies, creating a cohesive yet varied industrial environment.

This introduction focuses on Type A: Box Framing Form
The facade is defined by a structured framing system, where vertical elements and recessed openings create depth and hierarchy. Integrated with vertical fins, the openings provide passive shading, reducing solar gain while allowing subtle light and shadow variations to enhance the office environment.
The factory zone adopts a restrained material palette of painted surfaces, brick, and aluminum composite panels. Through clear layering and integrated openings, production functions are embedded within an ordered facade, achieving a balanced, rational expression that reinforces corporate identity.

現在工業廠辦建築逐漸成為企業形象、效率系統與未來彈性的綜合體,單一形式的工廠已無法回應快速變動的產業需求。因此,BCIP設計從園區尺度的總體規劃出發,將24間廠辦單元劃分為四個區域,透過4種立面語彙建立有秩序的變化。

本次介紹Type A : 框架盒體設計
以框架盒體作為主要立面語彙,透過規律的垂直構件與內縮開口,形塑具有深度的立面層次。開口嵌入框架之中,結合垂直格柵形成被動式遮陽系統,在降低日照負荷的同時,讓光影隨時間產生細緻變化,強化辦公空間的環境品質與建築表情。
工廠區則以白漆面與磚牆為基底,搭配鋁複合板,建立簡潔的立面設計。透過材質分層與開口整合,將生產機能隱含於有秩序的立面系統中,使整體在機能、比例與視覺上取得平衡,呈現理性克制且具企業形象的工業建築。

【MAUD思瑞建築作品分享】:《BCIP Factory & Masterplan》
MAUD於馬來西亞的大尺度土地總體規劃,本次 BCIP Factory 為其中一個區域的落地實踐。BCIP全區共規劃 24 間廠辦單元,本案為一座以「極簡工業語彙」為核心的工廠設計,強調材料本質與原始質感,以中性色調為主,結合簡潔俐落的線條,塑造機能性與秩序感兼具的立面設計。

整體規劃透過框架、倒角、錯位和曲面手法,共4種建築設計類型配置,建立統一中帶有變化的廠區風貌,透過不同形式與材料組合,提升整體工作場域的景觀性與企業形象,並在效率與彈性之間取得平衡,打造能隨產業發展持續演進的現代工業建築。

MAUD previously developed a large-scale masterplan for this site in Malaysia, with BCIP Factory as one of its realized zones. The development includes 24 factory-office units, defined by a minimalist industrial language that emphasizes raw materials, neutral tones, and clean lines, creating a faade that balances function and order.
The masterplan integrates four typologies: box framing, beveled box, offset box, and curved forms, creating a cohesive yet varied industrial environment. Through variations in form and material, the design enhances landscape quality and corporate identity, while balancing efficiency and flexibility to support future industrial evolution.

In 2025, the Asia-Pacific region accounted for 37.68% of the global factory automation market. As architecture shifts to serve machines, factory design moves from human ergonomics to automated processes, system coordination, and logistics efficiency, becoming part of an operational system. With production lines evolving every 5–10 years, over-specialization risks limiting adaptability. The challenge is to optimize for machines while preserving flexibility. Design therefore shifts from single buildings to district-scale planning, creating adjustable systems that evolve with industry. The future of industrial architecture lies in balancing efficiency, adaptability, and environmental sustainability.

亞太地區於 2025 年已佔全球工廠自動化市場 37.68%。當建築轉為服務機械與效率,工廠設計核心隨之改變:從人體工學與動線,轉向自動化流程、設備協同與物流效率,建築也由「被使用」成為「運行系統」的一部分。但隨產線每 5–10 年重構、設備快速迭代,過度專用將削弱空間的未來適應性。如何在機械最佳化下保留彈性,成為關鍵。因此,設計從單體轉向全區,透過整體規劃建立可調整的運作系統,使工廠能隨產業演進持續更新。未來工業建築的核心,在於同時具備效率、演進能力與長期適應性,並平衡環境永續。

Contemporary luxury housing is shifting from spatial scale to the quality of living—seeking calm, privacy, and a measured distance from the city. MAUD’s Yanbei Resi-tower is conceived as a design proposal, exploring how high-rise living can reconnect with the natural hillside. It envisions a residential model centered on tranquility, wellness, and long-term livability. The scheme follows the terrain, with four clusters stepping down from 25 to 11 stories. This configuration allows light, views, and airflow to permeate the community, softening the impact of vertical density. Exposed concrete façades, timber screens, and planted balconies together articulate an architecture that extends the mountain landscape into everyday living.

當代高端住宅的價值,正從空間尺度轉向生活感受,轉向追求與城市保持適當距離後所帶來的安定感、隱私感與生活節奏。MAUD 的 Yanbei Resi-tower 提案,以重視靜謐、療癒與長期居住品質的自住客群為核心,思考高樓之下如何接軌自然山景,讓設計能自然融入環境。此建築提案順應山勢展開,四個街區自 25 層逐步下降至 11 層,使光線、風景與空氣自然滲入社區,減少高樓對人與自然景觀的壓迫感。清水混凝土立面、木紋格柵與植栽陽台,共同形塑如山景延伸般的居住體驗。
