Following its massive success and widespread recognition at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Biennial, "Barzakh"our collaborative project with Wael Al Awar is embarking on an exciting new chapter.

Constructed utilizing upcycled plastics and palm fibers, this installation highlights the transformative power of circular design and sustainable materials in modern architecture. We are proud to announce that "Barzakh" has now been relocated for long-term outdoor exhibition on Al Saadiyat Island, located near the Abrahamic Family House and the National History Museum.

A true testament to sustainable innovation living on far beyond temporary exhibitions.

From film production to sustainable architecture, materials can be reimagined for the future. ♻️

Completed in 2018, the Jackie Chan Creative and Cultural Park in Beijing became another milestone collaboration between Jackie Chan and MINIWIZ — transforming creative spaces through circular design and sustainable engineering.

The four-story complex includes film studios, recording rooms, fitness spaces, offices, and living quarters, all integrated with upcycled building materials:
1. Heat-pressed rPET wall and ceiling panels made from recycled plastic bottles
2. Glass fiber reinforced PP furniture supplied by PENTATONIC
3. Recyclable PC Brick modular interior materials

Designed with a minimized carbon footprint and maximum recyclability in mind, the project avoids toxic chemicals such as formaldehyde while demonstrating how architecture can actively support a circular economy.

Turning waste into meaningful spaces, this is how design creates a second life for materials.

What if “waste” could become part of the solution? ♻️

In 2022, MINIWIZ collaborated with National Taiwan University and Kindom Construction to create an ESG Future Classroom , a space designed to rethink how sustainability, technology, and education can co-exist.

For nearly 20 years, MINIWIZ has been transforming discarded materials into innovative applications through material science and circular design — turning waste into products, interiors, modular systems, and sustainable architecture.

This project was not just about renovating a classroom.
It was about redefining what a future learning space could be.

✨ Built with recycled and upcycled materials
✨ Modular dry construction to reduce carbon emissions
✨ Low-toxicity, low-VOC installation process
✨ Antibacterial and self-cleaning surfaces
✨ Digital learning and remote teaching integration
✨ Improved acoustics and healthier indoor environments

Within less than 30 days, the space was transformed into a sustainable future classroom.

Compared to conventional construction methods, the project achieved a 22.9% carbon reduction — equivalent to saving 107 trees. Through local manufacturing and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), transportation impact and overall construction emissions were further reduced, proving that sustainability can be measurable, practical, and scalable.

We believe great interior design should not only look good,
but also respond to the environment, human health, function, and future generations.

When industry and academia collaborate,
ESG moves beyond reports — and becomes part of everyday life.

Sometimes innovation doesn’t begin with profit.
It begins with frustration.
Frustration with waste.
Frustration with outdated systems.
And the belief that trash can become something valuable again.

In this interview, we talk about:
♻️ Why sustainability needs real innovation
🏛 How ancient Roman architecture inspired Arthur in circular design
🧠 Why knowledge is more valuable than money
🌏 Taiwan’s recycling culture and the future of waste transformation
🏗 The connection between architecture, materials, and environmental responsibility

What if “waste” is actually a resource waiting to be redesigned?

This Earth Week🌎 Upcycling became the starting point for connection.

On campus, a simple question sparked meaningful conversations: where does the waste we throw away actually go? And could it become something new? Students didn’t just learn about sustainability, they explored it through real examples, rethinking the creative possibilities of waste.

Beyond the classroom, we connected with partners in business settings, including chambers of commerce and industry networks—sharing perspectives, exchanging ideas, and exploring how different sectors are reimagining the future of resources.

In our upcycling hands-on workshops, materials once considered disposable were given a second life. Corporate groups and international guests from diverse backgrounds came together, each bringing their own stories, transforming everyday waste into objects that are both practical and meaningful.

On Earth Day, the community participated in the most tangible way, by bringing their own trash. What might have been discarded became raw material for creation, exchanged for exclusive upcycled gifts, and transformed into a shared experience.

Because sustainability doesn’t begin with grand systems—it begins with small actions, and the moment we choose to see value where others might not.

MINIWIZ transforms recycled PET into the iconic feature wall at AIRSIDE ✨

Recycled PET bottles are upcycled into high-performance rPET fibers—not only eco-friendly, but also offering anti-mold, anti-stain, and water-repellent properties, making them a premium material for architectural applications.

This wall is not only visually striking, but also highly functional, with sound insulation and antibacterial performance. At the same time, it reduces the resources needed for cleaning and maintenance, enabling a lower-carbon approach to material application.

As you step into Hong Kong AIRSIDE, you’ll discover that this orange textile wall is more than a design feature—it is a seamless integration of sustainable technology, material innovation, and urban aesthetics.

From Waste to Wonder: An Upcycled & Modular Exhibition Experience

In 2023, MINIWIZ, in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board and Informa Markets, reimagined what an exhibition space could be—transforming recycled PET materials into a high-performance, design-driven environment.

Built with advanced recycled materials and a precisely engineered modular system, this innovative booth addresses one of the industry’s biggest challenges: the massive waste generated by trade shows.
Designed for disassembly, reuse, and continuous circulation, the materials are meant to live on beyond the event.

The result? A 36 sqm zero-waste booth that achieved a 42% reduction in carbon emissions compared to conventional builds—without compromising on aesthetics or functionality.

This is not just a one-time experiment.
It’s a glimpse into the future of exhibitions:

Design that performs
Materials that live on
Waste that disappears
