MINIWIZ and Trash Kitchen are featured in the October 2026 issue of Japan’s Architecture and Society, highlighting our approach to recycled materials and circular design.
After experiencing Trash Kitchen firsthand, Associate Professor Midori Yamada of Waseda University shared an idea that truly resonates with us:
“What else could we make from this?”
Through materials, technology, and design, MINIWIZ continues to explore new possibilities for recycled materials.

對MINIWIZ與垃圾廚坊而言，「循環經濟」從來不是抽象口號，而是一種能被真實體驗的生活方式。一套複雜的循環系統，可以透過機械設備、AI材料辨識資料庫與碳足跡分析，被具體呈現在日常空間中，更重要的是，整個過程幾乎零二次污染。

「台灣擅長的，不是把概念說得很大，而是把它真正做出來。」

「看見」還不夠，必須親手體驗
Trash Kitchen最核心的魅力，不只是把垃圾變成眼鏡或生活用品，而是讓參與者在短短10到20分鐘內，親自經歷一場完整的循環旅程。

從看見廢棄物、聽見機器運轉、聞不到塑料的難聞氣味，到最後親手操作並觸摸完成品—這種五感體驗，比任何永續口號都更有說服力。

Yesterday, MINIWIZ Founder & CEO Arthur Huang gave a guest lecture for the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) at the American University in Dubai (AUD), titled “Your Trash Is a National Asset.”

Through the talk, Arthur explored how waste can be reimagined as a valuable resource for sustainable materials and architectural innovation—inspiring the next generation to see new possibilities in what we throw away.

MINIWIZ launched Taipei Trash Kitchen at the end of 2022, and it has now been nearly four years of turning daily waste into new possibilities.

With around 210 workshops booked each year, we’re happy to make circularity simple, accessible, and fun, transforming everyday plastic waste into one-of-a-kind creations and memories.

Through each hands-on experience, we hope people can create something meaningful while rediscovering the value and possibilities of recycled materials.

CAMPUS WASTE UPCYCLED to LOCAL VALUE

Georgia Tech's new Trash Lab turns plastic waste into something useful.

"There are thousands of different potential designs that they could create from this plastic," said Jennifer Chirico, Georgia Tech's associate vice president of sustainability.

Researchers are already exploring much larger applications. Best said that faculty and students in Georgia Tech's College of Architecture are working on ways to repurpose discarded plastic into architectural joints that could be used to secure a pavilion being created on campus.

From something that fits in your hand to building materials that could one day tower over us, the Trashpresso is a very big idea.

But part of that idea is not necessarily about going bigger. It's about staying closer to home.

Georgia Tech researchers are taking on a problem most of us contribute to every day — what to do with all the plastic we throw away.

MINIWIZ’s miniTRASHPRESSO has officially landed at Georgia Tech, our first installation at a North American university and a centerpiece of the newly opened Trash Lab.

Here, discarded plastic can be transformed right where it is generated:
Waste → Material → Product → Back into the community.

From everyday objects to future architectural applications, miniTRASHPRESSO is opening new possibilities for students, designers, and researchers to explore circularity in action.
