To create a sense of visual expansion in a limited space, the designer exploits strategic mirrored accents to reflect light, while curved silhouettes soften sharp corners and reduce visual tension. Considering the diverse color preferences of modern residents, a neutral oak base provides a tactile foundation, complemented by pops of color with milk tea and pale beige accents on the walls. The lighting scheme avoids harsh central fixtures in favor of atmospheric recessed lights and integrated display lighting—such as beneath the television console and within curtain boxes—creating a layered, warm, and immersive residential experience.
The main highlight of this project is the custom dining table integrated with the TV wall. This architectural unity eliminates zonal boundaries, freeing what was once a cramped dining area and hallway. With a cantilevered, hollow-base design and smooth, organic curves, the table appears lighter than typical large objects placed in the center. This flowing design perfectly captures a spatial style in which form follows function, creating smooth circulation among everyday activities.
Although this project serves as a model home, the designer focused on core values of health and durability through its unseen material foundation. The entire interior adopts low-formaldehyde boards certified with Green Building Material (GBM) labels, reducing the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that impact both the environment and human health. This approach builds visual aesthetics on healthy indoor air quality. By extending the lifespan of the space and lowering future maintenance needs, the home offers long-term value—evidenced by the property’s sale within three months of completion—a testament to meticulous attention to detail.
