Tarot Cards

This is a super fun and different way to improve your English vocabulary, speaking, listening, and grammar - with tarot cards. Jon is an experienced tarot reader and English teacher.

In each class we will :

- Make small talk with your classmates
- Get answers to your questions

Learning English from comedy

Do you enjoy watching comedy but have no one to laugh with? Do you wish to understand all the culture references but Google isn’t helpful at all? Or do you want to be productive and learn a few things on a Saturday night?

If you can see yourself agreeing with at least one of them, you might just enjoy spending one hour with me (hopefully with the class). This is “Learning English from Comedy” — a class where we will listen to short comedy clips, explain all the confusing cultural references (or not confusing, just not funny at all), and hopefully learn a few useful phrases, terms, and vocabulary, and have a wild discussion about it. Or, we could just share some of your favorite comedy clips from Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube, and simply have a great time together!

Business Meetings - B2

In this Business English course, each 1 hour class is dedicated to the following topics:

- Presentation
- Performance Reviews
- Job Interviews
- Status Updates
- Conference Calls

Jon will use different types of activities to teach this class such as role-play, worksheets, simple homework assignments, listening activities, and vocabulary lists.

This Is America: A Critical Look at the United States

Many American politicians, including President Joe Biden, have been known to describe their nation as the "the greatest country in the history of the world", but what is the reality of the United States today? The world's third most populous nation is still undoubtedly very powerful and extremely wealthy but it's also deep in crisis. In this class, we'll take a critical look at the issues and events shaping American life and try to understand this complex society.

Topics discussed in this class will include social issues, culture, history, politics and the economic system. Students will be welcome to suggest topics to be covered in this class.

Late Night Small Talk

In this course, students who have busy schedules and work a lot will have time later in the evening to make small talk, talk about their past travel plans, future travel plans, jobs, gossip, favorite restaurants, recent TV shows and movies with other classmates and the teacher.

This is an extremely informal and fun class that starts late at night so you don't have to worry about missing a class because you are working overtime.
