SSL 9000J SL961 Power Supply Supervisor - Clean up repair for +48v rail

This is a corner case while I was inspecting the SL961, and surprisingly found that the +48v rail actually outputs +64v!!

The initial symptom was two of the three 4700uF/50v filtering caps leaked, after replacing them, I was surprised how come the +48v rail outputs +64v!! And I wasn’t able to adjust it by the standard calibration procedure! These caps are rated at 50v DC, if it keeps running in this condition, the newly replaced caps will explode again sooner or later.

After a few hours of research and investigation, I realized that this device is very likely “mistakenly” repaired by previous tech!

Followed by nearly 12 hours of work, those mistakes were cleaned up, it’s now returning back to the normal working state it should!

Yet another wiping ass day… but happy with the outcome!

PS. see if you can spot what was wrong in the photos :)
