太空科技實驗室於106年4月7日在新北巿淡水區沙崙海灘進行自主研發的火箭試射，發射結果圓滿成功，也讓本校成為國內第三個擁有設計與製造大學規格火箭能力的學校，包含自製推進劑、引擎、噴嘴、箭身、動態分析等。本系的火箭研發能量從零開始建立，全有賴同學們與系上教授的努力耕耘，而試射成功則是最佳的肯定。航太科技向來為所有前瞻科技之前哨站，本系師生運用課堂所學與滿腔的熱血，一同為淡江大學與航太系寫下了這個歷史新頁。
