today evening, the Chamber of Construction and Infrastructure of Tanzania (CCIT) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tanzania Craftsmen Association (CMT) to facilitate the implementation of a 1,000-unit affordable housing project.
The agreement aims to ensure access to high-quality construction materials through active CCIT members, thereby enhancing construction standards and efficiency.
The MoU was signed by Eng. Humphrey Mtendah, Chairman of CMT, and Mr. Steven Mkomwa, Director General of CCIT.
Additionally, the project is expected to create significant employment opportunities for skilled craftsmen under CMT, contributing to economic growth and community development.

Last night, as part of the global celebrations of International Women’s Day, we had the great honor of hosting Hon. Judith Salvio Kapinga, the Minister of Industry and Trade, during the Women in Corporate Gala 2026 held at the prestigious Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, The Kilimanjaro. The event brought together influential women leaders and professionals from across Tanzania’s corporate and public sectors to celebrate leadership, excellence, and the vital role women play in driving national development.
The Chamber of Construction and Infrastructure of Tanzania (CCIT) proudly participated as the Main Sponsor of the event, demonstrating its continued commitment to supporting platforms that recognize and empower women in leadership, business, and professional sectors.
The gala was attended by several distinguished women from the corporate and public sectors, including Dr. Ashura A. Katunzi from the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), alongside a number of directors, executives, and staff from both public and private institutions. Participating organizations included the National Insurance Corporation (NIC), Medical Stores Department (MSD), Fern Marketing, and CSW Tanzania Events, among others.
During the gala, several outstanding women leaders from the corporate sector were honored with Recognition Awards in acknowledgment of their remarkable contributions, leadership excellence, and impact within their respective industries, Including Hon. Minister, and the Chief Guest Hon. Kapinga, who was awarded as part of her good work she is doing for our Nation.
CCIT recognizes and greatly appreciates the significant contributions made by women across various sectors of society including social development, business, leadership, and within families. Through initiatives aligned with International Women’s Day, such platforms continue to celebrate, inspire, and promote the advancement of women in Tanzania’s economic and social transformation. 🌍✨👩‍💼
