Mara nyingi, clean cooking huonekana k**a kitu cha gharama kubwa—lakini je, ni lazima iwe hivyo?
Hivi karibuni tumekamilisha ufungaji wa jiko la taasisi la kuniSMART (lililojengwa kwa matofali) katika shule moja binafsi ya hapa nchini. Kilichojitokeza wazi ni kwamba, inawezekana kabisa kuhamia kwenye clean cooking kwa gharama nafuu zaidi kuliko wengi wanavyodhani.
Chabri Energy, tunabuni suluhisho kwa kuzingatia uhalisia wa watumiaji. Mradi huu ulituhitaji kutoa jiko lenye ufanisi mkubwa, linalokidhi mahitaji ya upishi wa taasisi, huku likibaki ndani ya bajeti ndogo ya shule. Matokeo yake ni jiko linalotumia vifaa vinavyopatikana kwa urahisi hapa nchini, lenye matumizi madogo ya kuniSMART, na linalodumu kwa muda mrefu.
Lakini swali muhimu ni hili:
Kwa nini bado clean cooking unaonekana kuwa wa gharama kubwa, wakati suluhisho nafuu tayari zipo?
Kwa shule na taasisi:
Ni changamoto gani kubwa inawazuia kuhamia kwenye clean cooking?
Je, ni gharama ya kuanzia, uelewa, au imani juu ya teknolojia hizi?
Kwa wadau na wataalam wa sekta hii:
Tunawezaje kupanua matumizi ya suluhisho k**a hili bila kuongeza gharama?
Ni mifumo gani mmeona ikifanya kazi vizuri katika mazingira k**a haya?
Tunaamini mjadala unapaswa kubadilika—kutoka “clean cooking ni ghali” hadi “tunawezaje kuufanya clean cooking ipatikane kwa wote?”

At Green Valley School, cooking the daily meals used to be a big struggle. The cooks worked with forest wood that came in all shapes and sizes. Some pieces were wet, some burned too fast, and others refused to burn at all. This meant the food took longer to prepare, classrooms sometimes filled with smoke, and the school kept spending more money on fuel.
One day, the school manager, Mr. Daniel, learned about KuniSMART briquettes. He decided to try them, not expecting anything special. But from the first delivery, the difference was clear. The briquettes were clean, easy to store, and all the same size. The cooks lit them quickly, and they burned with a steady flame.
Over the next few weeks, things changed for the better. Meals were ready on time because the briquettes produced stronger, more reliable heat. Mabaki haya hukandamizwa kwa teknolojia maalum bila kemikali, na kutengeneza briquettes zenye msongamano mkubwa na uwezo mzuri wa kutoa joto.

K**a nishati safi, kuniSMART biomass briquettes zina sifa kuu zifuatazo:

Jana, tarehe 18 Novemba, nilipata heshima ya kipekee kuendesha kikao cha wadau kuhusu jinsi ya kupunguza taka za plastiki jijini Mwanza.
Wakati fulani, niliwauliza washiriki swali rahisi:

“Taka inakuwa taka lini?”

Ukumbi ulitulia.

Kwa sababu ukweli ni huu:

-Taka inakuwa taka pale tu tunaposhindwa kuona thamani yake.
- Si kwamba haina maana bali ni rasilimali isiyotumika, inayosubiri mfumo sahihi, mawazo sahihi, au ubunifu sahihi.
