Every department in a company should have its own transparent performance indicator. One and only one. But how to find it and monitor it organically?
Example from production:
In the personnel department, there is a lot of information on the walls about occupational health and safety. They give me a briefing before going to production, and then it turns out that the employee himself grossly violates extremely important instructions! Why is that?
- The answer is very simple: Even two indicators may be too much for an employee, because he is first and foremost a father, a mother, who cares about the own family, and not about the value creation flow for the company.
- The decision to display one indicator for each department, one schedule of its changes and the current moment, and a flexible link to remuneration, not necessarily in money.
Organic workshops help determine what value the department places on the overall customer journey of the company, and what specific things in the space will support this.
Sometimes the office lacks another printer, sometimes a Swedish wall, sometimes empty space to move around...
In a playful way, with or without clay, even remotely, every employee can dream of an ideal workplace with a focus on the value that it conveys, and my goal is to find what is absolutely necessary - a bottleneck in each department and in the company as a whole.
