Why does drop separation matter in ophthalmic packaging?

When developing ophthalmic products, even a small inconsistency in drop formation can affect patient experience, dosing reproducibility, and overall product performance.

One of the key challenges in eye drop packaging is ensuring controlled and reliable drop detachment under different conditions of use.

Child-resistant packaging is an important part of product safety — especially for pharmaceutical and healthcare products intended for home use.

Farmmash offers a range of child-resistant closure solutions for bottles with GL18, PP28 and PCO1810 neck finishes, helping manufacturers combine safety, functionality and convenient dosing in one packaging system.

Our production program includes several configurations depending on the product and application.

For GL18 bottles, Farmmash offers child-resistant closures in two variants:
• with dropper inserts
• with a foam liner

The closure version for droppers can be supplied with Farmmash horizontal and vertical dropper inserts. Depending on the project requirements, the components can be delivered either assembled or separately.

Both the GL18 child-resistant closures and Farmmash dropper inserts are ideally suited for combination with Farmmash PET bottles, creating a complete packaging solution for liquid products.

For bottles with 28 mm neck finishes — PP28 and PCO1810, Farmmash offers child-resistant closures in several versions:
• with a foam liner
• with a reducer to decrease the bottle neck opening
• with a 2.5 V oral syringe adapter

For dosing convenience, PP28 and PCO1810 closures can also be combined with 15 ml or 25 ml measuring cups, designed to fit the closure shape.

These flexible configurations help manufacturers select the most suitable packaging system for oral liquids, drops, syrups, supplements and other healthcare products where safety and dosing convenience are essential.
