🚢 Engineering Transformation at Grintur-Ex Terminal (Bunge Ukraine)
S-Engineering successfully delivered a комплексный automation and modernization project at the “Grintur-Ex” production and transshipment complex in Mykolaiv, — part of Bunge.
The terminal operates within the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port and is one of the key export hubs for Ukrainian agricultural commodities, with annual grain transshipment capacity of up to 3.3 million tons.
⚙ Project Scope
S-Engineering implemented the proprietary SENUMAC bulk flow control technology, ensuring stable, synchronized, and energy-efficient loading operations.
✅The project included:
✔️Full engineering transformation of two ship loaders (conversion from potash to grain handling).
✔️Synchronization of trolley movement with ship loader travel.
✔️Independent ship loader positioning along the vessel loading line.
✔️Advanced conveyor monitoring (belt misalignment sensors, bearing temperature control).
✔️Modernized safety system with emergency rope pull switches.
In addition, S-Engineering delivered an integrated automation and power supply package:
✔️Design of the Automated Process Control System (APCS).
✔️Electrical systems engineering for the liquid bulk terminal.
✔️ Software development and commissioning of the steam & power plant APCS.
✔️Supply of switchgear manufactured using Sivacon S8 technology.
✔️PLC cabinets, MCC panels, ET stations, valve and aspiration control systems.
📈 Strategic Impact
The $180 million industrial complex significantly strengthened Ukraine’s export capacity, increasing agricultural transshipment volumes by approximately 1 million tons annually.
This project demonstrates S-Engineering’s ability to deliver complex industrial automation solutions for high-capacity export terminals, integrating process optimization, electrical infrastructure, and digital control technologies into one unified system.
