🦾 Last week, our Lead Data Scientist, Atilla Bahchedjioglou, delivered a keynote at Deep Tech Atelier 2026 in Riga, one of Northern Europe’s key deep tech events.

Atilla’s talk was titled “AI, Defence, and Medicine: Ukraine’s New Industrial Transformation.”

In his presentation, he spoke about Ukraine’s experience in developing AI solutions, defence technologies, and medical innovations in real-world conditions. In particular, he highlighted autonomous systems, drones, AI-driven data analysis, telemedicine, and rapid-response healthcare solutions.

For us, this event was valuable not only as an opportunity to present R&D Center Winstars.AI expertise and showcase our leading startups, Tayra - AI doctor’s assistant and Trident Group, internationally, but also as a chance to connect with people from the industry, exchange experience, and discuss new potential collaborations.

🏫 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) published an article about a practicum by the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning, where MIT students worked with representatives of Vinnytsia on economic development, innovation ecosystems, infrastructure, logistics, and workforce development.

As part of this program, Дмитро Софина, CEO and Co-Founder of R&D Center Winstars.AI, visited MIT as a member of the Ukrainian delegation and joined discussions on Ukraine’s role in the global technology ecosystem.

The article highlights how Ukraine’s expertise in IT, digital services, and the drone industry continues to develop rapidly, creating new opportunities for the country.

In his comment for MIT News, Dmitry Sofyna noted:

💡Today, we want to highlight a special case — Tayra - AI doctor’s assistant , a Ukrainian HealthTech product built to reduce one of the most time-consuming parts of clinical work: medical documentation.

Tayra.ai works as an AI medical assistant. It listens during a consultation, transcribes the conversation, structures the data, and creates a ready medical report.

For WINSTARS.AI , this case is especially meaningful because the core of the product is our AI work: a proprietary NLP model fine-tuned for medical terminology, ICD-10, ICPC-2, medications, and real doctor-patient language.

The product is already being used and tested in real healthcare environments, proving that AI can bring practical value to clinics, doctors, and patients.

💡 Recently, we took part in Tech360, where this year’s discussions focused on investment, new growth opportunities, shifts in the labor market, IT education, and digital sovereignty.
One of the ideas that stood out most was how far tech in Ukraine already reaches beyond the industry itself and how strongly it is shaping the country’s broader economic development.

Our CEO, Дмитро Софина, also joined the event. For us, it was a great opportunity to gain a better sense of where the industry is heading and to share our own experience with fellow professionals.

This is why R&D Center Winstars.AI joined the trade mission to France during European Deep Tech Week in Paris. 🦾 Ukraine is making progress in fostering collaboration between science and business, a key factor for turning scientific research into practical, market-ready technologies. Stronger partnerships between these sectors are essential for driving this transformation.

Recently, our CEO, Дмитро Софина, participated in a focus group where key barriers to effective collaboration between Ukrainian scientific institutions and businesses were discussed. The main takeaway: the culture of interaction between these sectors needs to be changed for the rapid transformation of scientific results into technologies.

Want to take your Data Science skills beyond courses and pet projects? This internship is your chance to do it in a real team environment.

We’re opening applications for a three-month intensive program that runs twice a year, designed to give you hands-on experience with real company projects under the mentorship of Senior Data Scientists with years of practical experience.

💡 This was the first large-scale Data Science Internship program ever launched in Ukraine — and we continue to run it annually, building a strong tradition of shaping the country’s next generation of Data Science professionals.
