Why do transformers make noise?:
Some times when we try to operate Electrical instruments like inverters, shaving machines, amplifiers and more, we hear a humming sound.
This sounds comes as a result of Magnetostriction.
When the transformer coils are energized, a magnet field is created, this magnetic field changes the dimensions of the transformer iron core and as a result it expand and contracts with the flow of alternating current.

The role of electromagnetic relay in power control:
The relay is designed with an input common to two output terminals of which one is normal closed to the input while the other is Normally Open with the input terminal.
When a relay is powered through its power terminal marked + and -
the normally closed terminal opens and vise versa.
This mechanism is applied when designing automatic control circuits like Automatic transfer Switches, motor starters etc....

some times motor coils burn because of the absence of a control measures and mechanism that can detect the presence of overheating.
Many electricians use only circuit breakers to start three phase motor is a good practice.
A good motor starter could be either Direct online or star delta one with a thermal overload embedded in it.
