We have distributed over 3,500 stoves gasifier stoves to since 2013. We have twelve full-time employees including five female youths. We also work with over 21 independent distributors who earn commissions off our products. Awamu has participated in over 125 trade-fairs and demonstrations thereby creating exposure and awareness of our stoves. Through these activities, communities are made aware of
indoor air pollution, effects of climate change and clean cooking. Awamu won the SEED Award 2013 for low carbon and have received technical, market development and financial support from institutions like SNV-Uganda, the Renewable Energy Business Incubator, Fledge, Yunus Social Business and Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program (TEEP) among others. Awamu Biomass Energy is member to the Biomass Energy Efficiency Technologies Association (BEETA), the Uganda National Alliance on Clean Cooking (UNACC), and the Uganda Small Scale Industries Association (USSIA).
