1. Their interlocking feature and uniformity means you don't need mortar for the vertical joints and only use a thin layer of mortar for the horizontal joints.
2. They're made on site hence no transport and damage costs
3. Don't necessarily require plastering and also allow for different types finishes i.e Vanishing, painting. But also in case you opt to, they're cheaper to plaster because of their uniform nature hence require a small plaster thickness.
FYI: This project is more than 15 years old without needing any touch ups.
