Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers A professional institution for engineers in Uganda Its main role is to promote engineering and facilitate the exchange of ideas amongst members.

Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) is a professional body formed in 1972 to bring together the engineering fraternity in Uganda. The institution has a responsibility to the public with regard to engineering professionalism and ethics, and providing guidance in policy matters of engineering nature. The Engineers Registration Act (as amended in 1977) requires engineers intending to

register and practice engineering legally in Uganda to be members of UIPE. Hence UIPE has an obligation to nurture and develop engineers to take on professional responsibilities in the country.
