THE SNAKE AROUND THE GUAVA & APPLE TREES, THE DRY SEASON & THE STRUGGLING AFRICAN WOMAN IN FARMING BUSINESS. By Francis Bukenya (Mr. Paroma).
Once upon a time, I travelled to a far land in Africa. The whole was so dry to the extent that animals died, crops dried, families walked very long distances to reach one remaining pond to draw water for their survival. One African lady in the Gwaja Land had sent her daughter to a neighbouring country to study. On her way back to her country, she return with some plastic irrigation buckets being aware of the situation back home.
Together with her mother, they used to fetch water and irrigate the Guava & the Apple Trees on their piece of land. The trees turned green and gave good shade to the then surviving snakes, insects, birds and other creatures.
When the fruits were ready, the snakes made sure they can be seen by the passerby so they don't dare joke with their shade. These snakes were now used to the ladies who saved them.
In such a very dry area came the best Apples and Guavas for feeding the whole Gwaja Land and for export.
Lessons:
1. No matter how hard things may seem to be, think beyond the normal.
2. Sacrificing to train our people in all sectors is very important.
3. The snakes scared away the would be thieves in appreciation of the shade.
4. It is not too late for us to turn our families, communities, countries & Continents into a better place for all.
5. Just carefully and critically evaluate everything, look around you, there is that remaining pond of water that can make you, your family, business, relationships, health, society, country and Continents to survive. Better still flourish.
6. If you are a leader at all levels, think about your people not your selfish ends.
You can draw even greater lessons.
Thank you for reading and may you be blessed by God Almighty.
