Concrete day is one of the most demanding days in the life of a practicing Civil Engineer. It is a day that calls for meticulous planning, teamwork, technical precision, and constant decision-making.

From early morning inspections and quality control checks to coordinating labour, monitoring concrete placement, ensuring compliance with specifications, and keeping a close eye on the weather forecast—every detail matters. A slight mistake or an unexpected downpour can compromise months of preparation. The pressure is immense, but delivering quality remains the priority.

SANDBHOLT RULER GENERAL ASSEMBLY & TEAM BUILDING – 5TH EDITION

"Cooperation is the thorough conviction that nobody can get there unless everybody gets there."

In keeping with our tradition of fostering teamwork, professional growth, and organisational excellence, the Sandbholt Ruler family came together at Therons Leisure Park, Gayaza, for the 5th Edition of our Annual General Assembly and Team Building.

The event was graced by Eng. Ronald Namugera, Registrar of the Engineers Registration Board (ERB), who served as the Guest of Honour, alongside Eng. Dr. Leonard Mwesigwa, a renowned Traffic Engineering Specialist and Senior Lecturer, who delivered the keynote address.

Their insightful presentations emphasised the importance of:

1. Teamwork and collaboration

2. Professional ethics and integrity

3. Personal branding

4. Top-down and bottom-up knowledge transfer

5. Continuous professional development and lifelong learning

We were also delighted to host student engineers from Makerere University, Kyambogo University, and Ndejje University, who are currently undertaking their industrial training with Sandbholt Ruler. Their participation reflects our commitment to mentoring the next generation of engineering professionals.

These principles remain central to building competent engineers, strengthening our organisation, and contributing to the growth of Uganda's engineering sector.

NBI Phase V is a transformative project, funded by the Government of China through the Export–Import (EXIM) Bank of China. It will extend broadband connectivity to previously unserved and underserved regions, including Karamoja and other remote areas in the country.
Under NBI Phase V, an additional 5,845 kilometers of optical fiber is being laid, covering 63 more districts across the country. The project also includes last-mile connectivity to over 2,800 sites, such as schools, hospitals, government institutions, parishes, youth centers, and community centers. Furthermore under this project Wi-Fi coverage will be extended to an additional 1,754 sites nationwide.
