Nyumba Mpya Prototype at Equator University, Masaka

We take immense pleasure in unveiling the successful reassembly of the Nyumba Mpya prefabricated bamboo prototype structure originally built at FOB Consult’s headquarters in Moyo now standing at Equator University of Science and Technology in Masaka.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in demonstrating the potential of bamboo as a sustainable building material for both high end and affordable social housing solutions in Uganda.

The session was graced by university administrators, community leaders, faculty, students and key partners. It was an engaging opportunity to showcase how green innovations can be integrated into the academic, architectural and development discourse.

With the ability to assemble the entire structure within just a day, the Nyumba Mpya model continues to prove its practicality, efficiency and replicability, offering real answers to Uganda’s pressing housing challenges.

Nyumba Mpya has officially broken ground!
Yesterday marked the beginning of something truly transformative the construction of our modular bamboo prototype structure at FOB offices in Moyo.

This prototype will serve as the foundation for the first bamboo orphanage of its kind, a sustainable, collaborative effort between Uganda, Poland, Great Britain and Pakistan.

We're not just building with bamboo; we're shaping a new vision for care, shelter and community.
