With freezing weather on the way this weekend, we’ve put together a few tips to help prevent plumbing issues in your home:

• Disconnect and Drain Outdoor Hoses
Before the cold weather starts, disconnect and drain all outdoor hoses. You can store them indoors or in a sheltered area.
• Insulate and Cover Pipes
Install hard covers on outdoor faucets and wrap pipes that run through attics, crawl spaces, unheated garages, or outside walls with pipe insulation, heating tape, or foam molded covers.
• Maintain a Consistent Temperature
Keep your thermostat set to a consistent temperature, even when you're away from home. You can also consider installing a smart thermostat that allows you to monitor and adjust the temperature remotely.
• Open Cabinet Doors
Keep cabinet doors open to fixtures bordered on exterior walls.
• Prepare an Emergency Supply
Build an emergency supply of water, flashlights, batteries and non-perishable foods in case your service is interrupted by extreme weather.
• Schedule a Winter Plumbing Check-Up
Consider scheduling a winter plumbing check-up to inspect your plumbing system and identify potential issues.

Here are 7 tips to ensure your HVAC system is running efficiently this summer!

Change Air Filters
Regularly replacing your air filters is crucial. Dirty filters restrict airflow, making your system work harder and less efficiently. Aim for every 30-60 days, or more frequently if you have pets or allergies.

Clean the Outdoor Unit
A clean outdoor unit, including the condenser coils, is essential for optimal performance. Hose off and remove debris and any obstructions around the unit to allow for proper airflow and cooling.

Check Thermostat Settings
Ensure your thermostat is accurate and functioning correctly. A malfunctioning thermostat can lead to inefficient operation and higher energy bills. Consider upgrading to a programmable or smart thermostat for better control.
Here are 7 tips to ensure your HVAC system is running efficiently this summer!

Inspect and Clean Condenser Coils
Dirty condenser coils can hinder the cooling process, impacting efficiency. Use a coil brush to clean the coils, ensuring they are free of dust and debris.

Ensure Proper Airflow
Check that your vents are clear of obstructions and that your air ducts are not clogged. Consider cleaning your air ducts professionally to improve air quality and efficiency.

Schedule Professional Maintenance
Annual maintenance by a qualified professional can help identify and address potential issues before they become major problems. They can also tune up your system and ensure it's operating at peak performance.

Consider System Upgrades
If your current system is older or inefficient, consider upgrading to a newer, more energy-efficient model. Upgrading can save you money on energy bills and provide better comfort.
