Ever wondered why not to just use chlorine tablets for your pool? Tablets contain Cyanuric Acid, or CYA, which is often referred to as stabilizer. While you want about 30-50 ppm of CYA in your pool, if you get too much, it can cause what's called chlorine lock, which prevents chlorine from sanitizing your pool. If there's too much CYA in your pool, it can also cause yellow and purple stains on your pool's liner once we get into the colder months. Unfortunately, the only way to remove CYA is to drain or dilute your pool, so save yourself the headache, and bring us a water sample today!
