Mountain Empire Homes We also own and manage several rental properties in the area. Tommy grew up in Mendota, VA while Julie grew up in Bristol, TN.

Mountain Empire Homes (Thomas-Thompson Construction, LLC) focuses on new residential construction, both directly for Clients as custom homes and spec homes on lots that we purchase. Tommy and Julie Sproles, the Owners of Thomas-Thompson Construction, LLC, DBA Mountain Empire Homes, were both born in the area in the late 1960s. They were married in 1998 and lived in Mendota for 25 years before movi

ng to Abingdon in 2013. They have one daughter, Courtney Sproles, who is a Science Teacher at Abingdon High School and John Battle. They also have four dogs who are a huge part of their family and life, two English Bulldogs, Sophie and Duke, one Yorkie mix, Chloe and a Boston Terrier/French Bulldog mix, Roxy. Duke loves to ride in the trucks and often goes to meetings and the jobsites with Tommy whenever he gets a chance. Tommy and Julie Sproles began the construction company in 2006. They started out in electrical and quickly moved into construction and remodeling of single family homes, obtaining licenses in both Virginia and Tennessee. Tommy has over 25 years of experience in the construction field and Julie runs the office side of the business. She has worked in Accounting for most of her life and obtained her Realtor's License in 2015. She is currently a Realtor with Jones & Associates located in Abingdon VA as well as running the day to day operations of the construction business. In 2016, with advice from a Customer and Friend, they decided to begin operating under a new business name, Mountain Empire Homes. They feel this name better describes the area that they build in and also more so what they specialize in, building, remodeling, selling and renting single family homes rather than a more general construction company name, although they also still do electrical as well as excavation projects both within the building and remodeling of their spec and custom homes and as hired by other Customers and Contractors. No project request is too big or too small. Whether you need a starter home, are downsizing or are ready to build your dream home, Mountain Empire Homes will do everything within their power to make your dreams a reality.
