I love doing rehandle jobs, saving a piece you’ve had forever from the bin is one of favorite parts of what I do. This little guy doesn’t look like much, but it has a story told through countless preparations of meals, cleanings of fish and game, and the anticipation felt cutting the tape of an unopened package or gift. This small tool lives in a kitchen drawer in almost every house the world over and is the first one grabbed when someone asks, “Hey! Could you grab me the knife?!” Don’t let it’s humble appearance and sharpened away edge profile fool you, it has seen years of work, but has many more to see before it’s through.
