Today, it is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Michael.

Michael was far more than an employee at Carolina Carpentry & Construction. He was a leader, a trusted teammate, a mentor, and a friend. To many of us, he was family—like a brother, a cousin, a father, a husband, and one of the kindest souls you could ever hope to meet.

There was never a task too big, a problem too difficult, or a person in need that Michael wouldn't help. His work ethic, character, and willingness to serve others made him a key part of our company and an irreplaceable part of our lives.

The impact Michael made reaches far beyond the projects he completed. He touched countless lives through his generosity, loyalty, and genuine care for others. He made everyone around him better simply by being himself.

We are grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and friendship we shared with him. While our hearts are broken, we will continue to honor his legacy by carrying forward the values he lived every day—hard work, integrity, kindness, and love for others.

Please keep Michael's family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

You will be deeply missed, Michael, but never forgotten.

— The Carolina Carpentry & Construction Family

Mr. Charles Michael Lowe, Jr., affectionately known as Michael, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the age of 54. He was the devoted and beloved husband of Kerri Opalewski Lowe, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and cherished memories.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Michael’s life on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, South Carolina. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Pennye Duncan and Pastor James Young. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Free Cantrell, Marshall Johnson, Phillip Cain, Lenny Atkinson, John Gantt, Ridge Cantrell, Paul Cantrell, and Micah Kaney.

Michael leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him best. In addition to his beloved wife, Kerri, he is survived by his parents, Charles Michael “Mike” Lowe, Sr. and Joyce Gantt Lowe; his daughters, Kimberly Towns and Brinleigh Kate Gibbs; his treasured cousins, Pam Kaney and Free Cantrell, who were more like a sister and brother to him; and Max, his faithful and beloved dog.

A lifelong resident of Aiken County, Michael was born in Aiken, South Carolina. He worked for Carolina Carpentry and he was a highly skilled Master Carpenter whose craftsmanship reflected both his talent and dedication. Through his work, he built more than structures, he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of all who knew him.

Michael found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether casting a line from the dock at the lake, searching for shark’s teeth along the shoreline, or enjoying the open road on his motorcycle with Kerri by his side, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm and gratitude. Some of his happiest memories were made outdoors, surrounded by family, friends, and the beauty of nature.
Perhaps Michael’s greatest gift was his ability to connect with people. He never met a stranger. His warm smile, easygoing nature, and genuine kindness made everyone feel welcome. He had a remarkable way of turning acquaintances into friends and friends into family.

Above all else, Michael loved deeply and loyally. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and son, and a steadfast friend. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him, and his memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Though he will be profoundly missed, Michael’s spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched and in the love he shared so freely.
