Demolition has begun on another historic school building in Akron

Goodrich Middle School in Akron was built in 1930 and named after rubber industrialist Benjamin Franklin Goodrich. Initially an elementary school, it became a middle school and was later closed in 2010 due to low enrollment. After years of disrepair and attempts at repurposing, the school building was approved for demolition in June 2025.
