is a commercially successful, oncology-focused biotechnology company that strives to accelerate the discovery, development and commercialization of new medicines for difficult-to-treat cancers. Following early work in model system genetics, Exelixis established a broad drug discovery and development platform that has served as the foundation for the company’s continued efforts to bring new cancer therapies to patients in need. This August and September, our employees continued to show how much they love to support the greater Alameda community: ​

· Spent time walking dogs with the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS)
· Helped distribute food around Alameda with the Central American Refugee Committee of the East Bay (CRECE) ​
· Participated in the annual in support of SF New Deal
· Rolled up their sleeves to help sort food and pack groceries for the Alameda County Community Food Bank
· Welcomed nearly 100 Alameda-area high school students to our campus for Career Day, offering a behind-the-scenes look at STEM careers through conversations, panels and lab tours

This July, Exelixis employees found new ways to show up with heart for the people, pets and neighbors who need it most:

▪ Participated in and sponsored the Colon Cancer Coalition's Get Your Rear in Gear 2026 5K run/walk
▪ Wrote more than 150 Warrior Mail postcards for children and young adults battling cancer, in partnership with MIB Agents Osteosarcoma Alliance
▪ Gave some love to furry friends at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter
▪ Packed 300 backpacks with school supplies for local students with Safe Passages and Life Science Cares Bay Area
▪ Built a playhouse for a local daycare with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley

This May, Exelixis employees rolled up their sleeves and proudly supported organizations that help our local communities:
▪ Collected over 100 packages of baby diapers for families served by Safe Passages through a drive held in partnership with Life Science Cares Bay Area
▪ Participated in the annual Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area Hope Walk as walkers and event sponsors
▪ Supported the Women's Cancer Resource Center Swim a Mile/Move a Mile fundraiser as sponsors and participants
▪ Volunteered with Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS), spending time with dogs, cats and kittens awaiting adoption
▪ Built 40 bicycles alongside The Kids Bike Lane to provide bikes for children and teens in need throughout the East Bay
▪ Supported the USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum through volunteer projects that helped free up staff to focus on other important tasks

April Showers bring May flowers, and volunteer opportunities! Our volunteers participated in some incredible opportunities to give back across the Bay Area:
▪ Handed out fresh food and pantry staples to more than 250 families at the CRECE and Safe Passages food pantry in Alameda
▪ Walked dogs and cuddled cats to help the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) Staff
▪ Made over 350 cancer awareness bracelets for Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area Hope Walk participants
▪ Built 12 bikes for teens at the Alameda Boys and Girls Club
▪ Celebrated Earth Day by planting seedlings, cutting clippings and making mulch for Friends of Sausal Creek in Oakland
