About The Team:
Alameda Science and Technology Intsitute (ASTI) Robotics Team, #4186 was established in 2011 with a membership of only ten students and two dedicated mentors. With the help of MVRT (115) the team managed to build a working robot and bring it to competition at the 2012 Silicon Valley Regional in San Jose, California. There, the team managed to place 47th out of 50 teams, something t

hey could be proud of, considering that their robot had no means of scoring points on its own. Since that first competition, the team has grown both in size and in skill, a trend they hope to continue. About The Mascot:
After choosing "Aztechs" as the team name ("AS" from the school's initials and "Tech" in relation to robotics. This combination was then stylized), the team picked a robot phoenix as their mascot, appropriately linking it to the school mascot as well as Aztech mythology.
