Every week, Concept Systems engineers get together for Nerd Talk to share what they’re working on, troubleshoot technical challenges, or simply geek out over cool technology.

This week, Engineer Isaac brought the hardware, demoing a Rockwell Automation Kinetix 6000-to-5700 migration and using Studio 5000 Motion Direct Commands to test motor direction, positioning, polarity, and connections.

And yes, a physical motor moving in real time makes Nerd Talk approximately 73% nerdier. ⚙️

More importantly, these casual conversations get our Principal, Senior, and Junior engineers learning from each other which turns out to be pretty good for teamwork.

Six months, plenty of robots, and a whole lot of troubleshooting. 🤖

Our latest MECOP intern, Rufus Mainwaring, wrapped up his Mechanical Engineering internship with Concept Systems last week. From mechanical design and robotic workcells and some good old-fashioned problem-solving, Rufus got a firsthand look at what engineering inside a system integrator can look like.
