Good read about the cold, slow start we have had to spring.

With these high corn prices, plant corn when conditions are right, says Ken Ferrie. Don't act in haste and set yourself up for corn replant decisions. If you have to push conditions and plant, go with soybeans.

Little fun fact Friday!

Our founder, J.R. spent a lot of time in his plane, with pilot Bob Whipkey. They traveled all over the US visiting farms and Simplot locations, but no matter where he went, "He never acted bigger than anyone else." His approach to people lives on today, with PASSION FOR PEOPLE being a core pillar of the J.R. Simplot Company.

It's a steady theme since USDA introduced corn crop condition ratings this year. The quality of the crop continues to decline, with corn dropping 4 points each week. Soybean conditions also fell.
