We want to give a big thank you and shout out to the students from the Calhoun Area Career Center (CACC) Construction Program who recently spent time job shadowing with our team.
It was great having you on site and sharing a look at the world of historic preservation trades. This field is growing and offers endless opportunities for those interested in building, restoring, and preserving the craftsmanship of the past.
We’re excited to connect with eager young people who are exploring careers in the trades and look forward to seeing many of you become tomorrow’s craftsmen and craftswomen.

It’s always a privilege for us to work on the old buildings that serve as the foundations of our community, but we are particularly honored to be restoring a monument of one of the founding families of our community. The legacy of the Sheldon family, and Mrs. Mary Sheldon Ismon hold a special place in Albion’s history.

Completion! After many months of challenging and sometimes nerve-wracking restoration work, the old, 112 foot high, 1888 German Lutheran church steeple once again proudly contributes to the Albion city skyline. Hundreds of architectural details were restored or replicated, thousands of yellow cedar shingles were custom shaped and hand-nailed, and nearly two dozen gallons of paint were used to restore the historic steeple. We’re honored to have been a part of preserving this sacred structure for another generation, and grateful to for having the vision to save this church.

In honor of President's Day, we'd like to throwback to C.J.'s time working on the restoration of Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest in Forest, VA. As the restoration supervisor, C.J. worked with a great team of craftsmen and museum professionals to oversee the completion of the architectural woodwork inside the house. Thousands of pieces had to be individually crafted to bring the house back to its original glory -- over 2,500 in the dining room alone! We are honored to have been involved in preserving such an important piece of American history.
