☀️ Is Your SolarEdge System Actually Working?
(How to Check in 5 Seconds)
We get calls all the time from homeowners who aren't sure if their solar panels are actually producing power. Usually, it's because they were never given the app, or the system suddenly lost communication. If your app isn't showing your production, don't panic! You can verify solar production of your SolarEdge inverter just by looking at the lights on the unit. Here is what they mean:
🟢 Solid Green Light: Great news! Your system is actively producing power from the sun.
🔵 Solid Blue Light: Your system has a healthy communication link to the internet/app.
⚠️ The Danger of the "Missing Blue Light"
When we arrived at the home in this video, the green light was on, but the blue light was completely off. This means the system is making power, but it can't talk to the app or to SolarEdge.
Why you shouldn't ignore this: SolarEdge constantly rolls out critical firmware and system updates over the internet. If your communication stays down for a long period of time, your system will miss these updates, the internal memory can get overloaded, and the inverter will eventually stop working altogether.
If your blue light is off, get your communications back online as soon as possible to keep your system updated and running smoothly!
💡 Note: The solid green light indicates active power production. If you check your inverter at night or on an extremely dark, rainy day, the green light will be off or blinking because there is no sun—this is completely normal!
