We are extremely proud of the multiple crews that work on this project. This would be a first for all 3 divisions of Avon Corporation working on the same project. The project was mainly a stream restoration with a slope stability issue that required 100 plus soils nails to stabilize the slope so a new 200’ long post and panel wall could be installed. Once all the geo work was completed the stream restoration could be installed. Excellent job by all.

Record-setting flooding and erosion called for the Emergent Structural Renewal of the Hickey Run Aerial Sewer Crossing, which is located in the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, DC. Using design-build allowed the project team to collaboratively develop a cost-effective, multi-faceted renewal solution that extended the structure’s service life by 50 years while maintaining the integrity of the environment. 🌳 Learn more about this project and our other merit award winners at dbia.org/awards/project-team-awards/2022.

🏆Through a team effort the Hickey Run Pipe Rehab project has been recognized as a 2022 Merit Award project from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA)!🏆
Triad teamed with Structural Technologies and Avon Corporation to provide solutions for the urgent repair of a 51-inch diameter elevated wastewater sewer crossing above the environmentally sensitive Hickey Run creek located within U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. Triad provided micropile foundation design and construction monitoring services which led to the timely repair of this critical wastewater structure.
