🛠️ Precision in Motion!

Look at that focus! The class was trying to find the best tool to cut the seat/bird's mouth on the rafters. It was a little bit of a challenge!

We have to give a huge Sims Shoutout to Libby Boykin for stepping up to show her skills with the jigsaw!! With focus and a steady hand, she knocked out a clean, precise cut on these rafters. Precision woodworking takes skill, patience, and confidence—and Libby made it look easy!

We love seeing our crew put in the hard work and crush their goals on the build site. Drop some praise for Libby in the comments below! 👇✨

SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT on our

From measuring the very first layout to standing up the final walls, our crew is putting in the real work! 🔨📏

Building skills, building futures, and building community from the ground up. This is what dedication looks like—one stud, one screw, and one frame at a time.

So, we did a thing! 🚀 🚧

Last night marked a milestone for us: we successfully ran both our Bridge to the Building Trades and S.I.M.S. After School programs simultaneously!

Watching our workshop in full swing with TWO different groups working on TWO different projects was nothing short of amazing. Seeing the excitement & energy, hands-on learning, and future builders all at once is a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come. This kind of growth doesn't happen in a vacuum—it happens because of the incredible support from our community, partners, families, and dedicated team.

We are so grateful to everyone who continues to believe in our mission, invest in our students, and support our journey. Together, we're expanding opportunities, building brighter futures, and laying a stronger foundation every single day!

Here’s to double the impact, continuous progress, and everything still to come! 🏗️✨

Another birthday 🥳 in the class. Happy birthday to Dallas!!

Wednesday, our students were at the whiteboard grinding through construction math—learning formulas, plugging in numbers, and repeating until it clicked.

They didn't realize it then, but they were prepping for what came next.

Last night we went to Sims School of Construction's Workshop, and that whiteboard math turned into real-world action:

How much material do we need for this wall?
What are the exact cut measurements?
Which tools do we need, and can we run them safely?

They nailed the answers and got straight to work. Because doing the work is what makes the numbers actually MEAN something. It connects classroom theory directly to the job site.
Even when a mistake happens, it turns into a teaching moment. Mr. Brian steps in to show them how to troubleshoot and fix it on the fly—building the kind of problem-solving confidence you just can’t teach on paper.

These students are something special. If you don't know it yet, you will soon. 💪🏽
