Not all scrap comes in flat, predictable pieces.

Axles, rods, tubing, mixed auto and undercarriage parts β€” irregular shapes don't sit flush against a pickup face the way sheet or plate does. That's where a lot of magnets lose grip.

Winkle's circular scrap magnets are built for that variability. The round design holds a solid magnetic footprint even on uneven, stacked, or oddly shaped loads, so the lift stays secure whether you're pulling turnings or a tangle of axles.

Less time repositioning. Less time re-grabbing what slipped off. More cycles per hour.

🚨 Employee Spotlight: Troy Czarnecki 🚨

Meet Troy Czarnecki, Regional Sales Manager at Winkle.

Before Troy ever worked at Winkle, he was a Winkle customer. As a maintenance coordinator in a scrap yard at a Cleveland-Cliffs steel mill, he used our products on the job. That’s where he saw the quality, the craftsmanship, and the service up close, and where he decided this was gear worth standing behind.

He joined the Winkle team in 2021, bringing a foundation most salespeople don’t have. He knows the customer’s world because he lived it, and he knows what a scrap yard demands from its equipment.

What he values most about the job is the team. He’ll tell you it feels more like family than a workplace. What drives him is solving problems, finding the right solution, and making a real impact for customers, backed by the pride he takes in the company and the products.

Ask a colleague and you’ll hear the same words: positive, supportive, dedicated. Troy works hard to make sure the whole team and the company look good, not just himself.

Outside of work, you’ll find him fishing on his lake, on the golf course, or enjoying a good cigar on the deck, and always making time for his family.

Proud to have you on the team, Troy!

Heavy steel plate. Lifted anywhere. No power source required. ⚑

This Winkle rectangular plate handling system lifts full-length steel plate in one clean, balanced pull, so you clear a railcar faster and keep your crew out of the risk zone. Paired with an onboard Bateman Manufacturing generator, the rig powers itself into a complete lifting package that goes where the work does β€” no shore power to find, no cables to run, no waiting on a hookup.

Fewer people on the ground. Less manual rigging. More lifts per shift, wherever the steel is.

Steel doesn't stop at the mill.

Downstream operations move, sort, and load steel every day, and every lift has to be safe, fast, and dependable. Winkle builds magnet systems for exactly that, handling bars, beams, plate, and long product in service centers and distribution yards.

Nearly 80 years in, and the reason clients keep calling hasn't changed.

"Winkle has been in business since the late 1940s. Clients call us because they know we'll be here to support them β€” today and for years to come. And they trust the quality of what we deliver, whether it's a new magnet or a repair."

No external power source. No genset to bolt on, fuel, or maintain.

Winkle's HYDMAG carries its own generator, built right onto the magnet. Hook up the hydraulic hoses and you're moving steel β€” fully autonomous, and easy to shift from one machine to the next, so a single magnet serves your whole fleet.
