Job Description:
Seeking a logistics assistant to work with the Trucking Department and Office Staff in day-to-day operations as we continue to grow. Candidate must have the ability to multi-task, strong communication and computer skills including Microsoft Office programs and Outlook. The ideal candidate will also have skills in multi-line phone operation, data entry, great record keeping abilities, planning, organization, a customer-oriented approach, and task oriented, with a drive to succeed. Prior trucking, warehouse, logistics and cost control experience a plus, but not required. Candidate will provide relief for vacations and workload of our staff members. Maintains operations of the trucking fleet by monitoring performance and usage; adjusting to new requirements/regulations; negotiating the booking of loads including specifications, price, terms, pickup and delivery; updating customers/brokers.

Essential Functions:

Contributes to truck fleet and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.

Job Requirements:

This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, annual inspections, and daily diagnostics with repairs of our fleet equipment as well as customer equipment. Must maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.

Minimum of 1-3 years in heavy equipment maintenance facility preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Michigan Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certifications, (HDT, Engine Repair –Diesel, Drive Train, Brakes and Braking Systems, Suspension/Steering Systems and Electrical Systems), a valid driver license, and CDL A (not required, but preferred to test drive vehicles).

Update 10/16/19: Our equipment has been located and a suspect is in custody. Big thanks to the troopers from the Michigan State Police Lakeview Post! We are very appreciative of everyone that shared our post! It's amazing how quickly it spread throughout the state, which ultimately lead to the recovery and arrest! Thank you all!

We are offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) who stole our underground utility equipment that was located 2 miles west of Montabella Schools on N. County Line Rd in Blanchard. We believe this crime occurred sometime during the night of Sunday, October 13 or early Monday morning. Items stolen include: 2 Generac Water/Trash pumps, a Ditch Witch 950 Utility Locator, Slabach Wheeler Reeler Hydraulic Power Pack, 6 Chain Binders, 2 Grease Guns, 3 Hand Holes, 2 Large Truck Batteries, and 2 DOT Safety Kits. Position reports to owner and manager of logistics, to organize and analyze all costs relative to managing the company’s expenditures. Key deliverables for the role include coordination of weekly and monthly transportation cost and productivity analysis as well as involvement in key initiatives.

Analyze spend data and perform in depth financial analysis. Develop reports that identify lost savings opportunities across all modes.

Coordinate month end, quarterly, and annual transportation cost analysis.

Requirements: Minimum 1-3 yrs. experience in a cost analyst and/or associate degree required Demonstrated understanding of cost modeling.

Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel required including effective communication and concise presentation skills.
