Trims was started in Imlay City MI the early 1980's making products for the automotive industry. Trims has directly supplied products to GM, Chrysler, Saturn and Faurecia. Through Tier 2 customers we have supplied parts for the Hummer, Ford F 250 King Ranch and Cadillac Escalade (Just to name a few). In 2008, when the automotive industry hit hard times, one of our largest customers closed and we h
ad to shut our doors and regroup. Out of this period of readjustment came a new plan - we would no longer rely 100% on the automotive industry. We learned a lot by being an automotive supplier, and those lessons can and are being used to create customer satisfaction in other industries. Automotive teaches suppliers to use Lean Manufacturing principals, standardized work, robust systems and attention to detail - all of these skills transfer to other customer bases to enable us to deliver a quality part - no matter who the customer is or what the application.
