🍂🔥 FALL REMINDER FROM JIM'S HEATING AND AIR! 🔥🍂
As temperatures start dropping and you switch from your AC to your HEATER, here's something important to remember!
🔥 What's that burning smell?!
When you turn your heat on for the first time this season, you may notice a slight burning or dusty smell coming from your vents.
DON'T PANIC! This is usually NORMAL! 😊
Here's why:
✅ Dust buildup: Dust naturally collects on your heating elements while they're not being used.
✅ Heat strips kicking on: If your system uses electric heat strips, the first time they heat up, they can burn off accumulated dust, causing a temporary burning smell.
✅ It should go away: Typically, the smell will fade after the system has been running for a short time.
⚠️ WHEN SHOULD YOU BE CONCERNED?
🚨 If you notice a strong electrical or melting-plastic smell.
🚨 If you see smoke coming from your vents or unit.
🚨 If the burning smell continues or gets stronger instead of fading.
If you notice any of these warning signs, turn your system off and have it checked by a professional!
