Southern Global provides Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety Consulting Services to public, commercial and industrial clientele, and is currently looking to hire a Degreed Industrial Hygienist to its staff. Job Description:
• Interface with a variety of customer personnel to conduct detailed qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments using a variety of air, noise, and other sampling equipment.
• Work in a wide variety of work environments, including industrial, commercial, and residential. Some work environments can be high-performance high-pressure environments settings such as shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency response situations.
• Perform administrative work duties, including data entry, data collection and organization, interviewing client personnel.
• Perform other environmental inspections, including asbestos, lead, and mold assessments and air monitoring.
• Additional training for software programs and industry skill and safety will be provided.

Requirements or Qualifications
• Education – industrial hygiene entry level – 4-year undergraduate science degree minimum.
• Skills – basic computer skills, working knowledge in MS Word & Excel, time management, organization skills, leadership, communications skills, and willingness to travel.
• Working with a team of individuals, managing a team, and/or working independently.

The candidate must have mid-level experience (minimum 2 years) in a variety of computer applications. The individual should have a Microsoft 2012/R2 Server experience. Have an established background in computer administration and security.
This individual must able to demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the team and a high competency in the following coding languages:

SQL Server
Access
PHP
Visual Basic (preferably)
ACAD
Other languages are a PLUS

Excellent efficiency, descent interpersonal skills, timeliness, and reliability are essential elements for this position. Asbestos is not the only material that can gets into your lungs and cause damage. We know that fiberglass and other small particles and fibers can lead to mesothelioma and now they are finding that carbon fiber (which is in everything) can cause the same issues.

While O.S.H.A. protocols can be painfully time consuming, at least they prevent actual pain. These O.S.H.A. fails are so dangerous, we're not even sure these people know what safety is.
