Have you had weather damage? Here are some tips for filing your insurance claim:
First and Foremost, take pictures and videos of the damages before you start the clean-up. The burden is on the policy holder to prove damages, not the insurance companies.
Second, to understand what your insurance policy covers and requires of the policy holder, make sure to have a complete copy of your entire policy. If you do not have one, you can request one from your insurance company. This should include full policy forms, declaration pages, and any/all endorsements.
Third, there are a variety of policies with different amounts of coverage and deductibles. Your deductible will be the amount that you will have to pay before the insurance coverage will kick in. You should know that it is illegal for any contractors to offer to cover/pay the deductible for you.
Last but not least, make sure you understand the totality of the damages and know what you are owed. This can be complicated and cumbersome with insurance companies putting the interest of their company before the interest of you, the policy holder. That's why you should always call Norton Roofing first. Let us be your advocate in dealing with the insurance companies.
