Early in my time at KDK, we had a project where a critical subcontractor fell through mid-job. Schedules slipped. The owner was understandably frustrated. Instead of pointing fingers or hiding behind contract language, we stepped up, ate some of the pain, brought in better partners, and over-communicated every step of the recovery.

That project didn’t go as planned — but it became one of the strongest client relationships we have today.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄:
- Over-communicate from day one.
- Hire and partner with people who solve problems, not just bid low.
- When things go sideways, own it fast and fix it faster.

Our family has been in this business for three generations. We’ve poured concrete by hand and delivered complex hotel and medical builds. The through-line has always been the same: Do what you say you’ll do, even when it’s hard.

- We double down on the project types and clients where we deliver the strongest value.
- We ruthlessly streamline or eliminate the activities that create 80% of unnecessary problems or margin leakage.
