A year and a half ago, we made one of the hardest, and best, decisions in KDK’s history.

We had grown fast. Really fast.

We were working on medical facilities, temples, restaurants, office buildings, strip malls… you name it.

Our client list included some of the biggest names in the industry.

On paper, the numbers looked impressive.

But behind the scenes, three things were broken:

✅ Quality wasn’t meeting our own standards
✅ Margins were razor-thin
✅ We had grown so quickly that our culture and core values were starting to slip

So we did something most companies are afraid to do.

We hit pause.

We trimmed the company down.

We replaced people who didn’t align with who we are.

We rebuilt every team from the ground up.

And most painfully, we walked away from many of our “big name” clients.

There was a stretch where we said “no” far more than we said “yes.”

Their volume looked great on a spreadsheet, but it wasn’t profitable and it wasn’t sustainable.

The result?

✅The quality of our work skyrocketed.
✅Our teams now truly reflect the culture we built this company on.
✅We’re working with clients who respect us and value what we do.
✅And for the first time in years, we have the margin to deliver the level of excellence we’ve always been capable of.

It’s been a long road. But the last three months have been special.

We finally have every single seat filled with the right person. The momentum is real and it’s exciting.
