Biodiesel is a lower carbon intensity fuel made from feedstocks like animal fats and vegetable oils. These feedstocks go through a process called transesterification, which converts the fats and oils into biodiesel and glycerin (a coproduct).
A benefit of biodiesel is less wear and tear on fuel pumps and injectors due to improved lubricity.
