SoGo Metal Art

SoGo Metal Art Metal Art SoGo Metal Art is a hobby for my husband and I. My husband works a full time job as a machinist and also has rental property to maintain.

All the work we do is done after he is home from his work. It's just him and I that do everything for the metal art. I (Sheryl) do the drawings, and some assembling, my husband does the cutting, sanding down all parts and then powder coating everything. It's a process that takes time especially with other responsibilities that have to get done that's not metal related. We love what we do and we especially love to see how everyone reacts to what we offer.

For the pictures I have blacked out the coordinates for privacy purposes. But I’m sure you can imagine what it would look like.

Thank you Kate for letting us create this beautiful sign for you. It looks so beautiful over your fireplace.

We’re finding that a lot of people love Bigfoot. We got a request to do a house number / address sign. I have removed the address on this picture just for privacy purposes. But this was a fun one to do. This is 30.5” wide.

Thank you Meagan Martino Whitaker for allowing us to create this for you. We love it.

So we went from my health issues to my mother in-laws declining health. Getting work done was a challenge. Unfortunately she did pass away a couple of weeks after her 90th birthday. Which she had a wonderful day of celebration. We miss her so much and the house just isn’t the same without her. 😢
We are adjusting.

We are now able to get back to working on some extremely late projects. We do apologize for such a long time away. But we’re hoping that if you have something you are waiting for, please reach out to remind us. Some of my messages here got messed up when Meta encrypted them. I will be reaching out to people that I do have messages for as I slowly get caught up. Thank you all for your patience, support and understanding. We truly appreciate you all.

We were asked to cut this design into two original saw blades for our customer. We would’ve had to weld the two saws together and we were thinking that we could do that, but it just wasn’t possible. There were too many things that could go wrong. There also was no way to get the amount of detail that was wanted in the two saws. And we would’ve risked screwing up the original blades if something happened with a table and screwed it up. So what we did instead was cut the design out of metal and made it look identical to the saws that were supplied. You’ll notice the two different blade types on the top and bottom. At least this way we were able to get the design to fit in without a problem and then we attached the customers handles. Which one of them was in very delicate shape and had to be wired tied together. We left it as raw steel so that it could rust naturally as the customer wanted.

We will be playing around with other saw ideas. We have a whole bunch of handles to use. So if you have ideas to go on a saw, let’s hear it.

We made this for my husband’s godchild as a gift. I love how it came out.
