We started this business to provide Long Islanders an easier, safe and more economical way to satisfy their fueling needs for their work vehicles and boats.
With your help again, we can continue to service your needs. A recent ordinance which hurts small businesses was brought about by the Fire Marshal. This will make delivering Gas or Diesel to Motor Vehicles in Nassau County illegal. Most of Suffolk in banning Gas to boats, Diesel could be next. These ordinances cost you money and your time.
You may have received a recent request to sign an online petition. We were hoping to approach the politicians and let them see that this change hurts Long Islanders and their constituents. A lobbyist we hired to fight this issue met with some of our local politicians. All said the same thing – there isn’t enough noise to bother with it. Imagine that – politicians not wanting to save you money.
Media coverage and complaints from constituents is the best and only option for making NOISE to make a change.
You know what we are up against. These are the same media outlets (Newsday, Channel 12, and Channel 7) that carried the story of the Fire Marshal falsely arresting me for this service in 2016. They did not report anything about the falsification of the arrest warrant, the lies during the court process, or the misrepresentation of the purpose of the legislature’s ordinance. Result – full DISMISSAL but of course no media coverage on that.
How can you help make NOISE? Contact your representatives and sign the petition. If you want a choice in the future one email won’t cut it. We have to keep letting them know our money and time is important and they should fix this!
How to Contact Your Representative
Click here: https://www.commoncause.org/find-your-representative/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI442w3MLB5QIVm4FaBR1RwgIoEAAYASAAEgI7d_D_BwE to Find your Representative. After you put in your address it will ask for your name and email, but right below that is an icon to just - SKIP to find your legislators. This will give you your US reps, State reps, Assemblyman, and Legislators.
Best ways to get a response - Make it personal. They represent you, so shouldn’t they care about what is best for you? This legislation will permanently cost you time and money. Just this week, one of our customers said he went to a fuel dock and the handle dripped gasoline the entire time he was fueling. That isn’t safe. Include things like that or other problems with fuel docks you have personally experienced.
Attached please find reference information for you, as well as ammunition you may use when writing the people who represent you.
Note: You still can make your voice heard at the ballot box on Tues. All of you boaters and voters keep in mind that District Attorney Madeline Singas was vocal that the business of fuel delivery to boats should be eliminated. She wants to eliminate your choices.
Sign the Petition
We appreciate all who took the time to review and sign the Petition. If you haven’t had a chance, you can still sign the Petition now!http://chng.it/MQn7Htxj
Let’s do this. This is not the time for apathy.
Please contact ALL of your representatives and sign the petition. Then, put it on your calendar to send follow up emails, and/or make calls often.
If you have any contacts in a media outlet or have other ideas to help make this change, please reach out to me. We are truly grateful for your past and continued support. It was humbling to work with the Lobbyist who believed so much in this effort that he returned our check and offered help and support.
Together we can fight and win.
Thank you
Don't over regulate fuel deliveries
