We’re looking for a Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our team!

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in geotechnical field investigations, engineering analysis and design, materials testing, and construction support. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on highways, airports, utilities, bulk fuel facilities, land development, and other infrastructure projects throughout Alaska.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer interested in seeing projects from field investigation through design and construction, including work in remote locations and challenging Alaska conditions.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s or master's degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical focus, an EIT certificate or the ability to obtain one within six months, and a willingness to travel for field assignments.

HDL’s Public Involvement team recently had the opportunity to support the North Slope Borough in organizing and hosting community meetings for ongoing projects across the region. 🤝

During our time in Wainwright, local Elders invited our team to help spread the word by announcing an upcoming meeting over the community’s VHF radio. It was a fun and memorable way to connect with the community. Who knows, maybe broadcasting is HDL’s next growth opportunity!

HDL is looking for a Civil Engineer (Water/Wastewater) to join our team in the Mat-Su Valley. If you have experience designing water and wastewater systems and want to work on projects that directly support Alaska communities, this is a great fit.

You’ll be involved from planning through construction, working on everything from distribution and collection systems to treatment facilities across urban and rural Alaska.

✔️ 5+ years of experience
✔️ Alaska PE (or ability to obtain)
✔️ Willing to travel and work out in the field
