I went to replace this wobbly ceiling fan that was literally falling apart and the box had some twisting movement that wasnt fixable due to the design of the fan box bracketing. I spray foamed around the box to stiffen it up and air seal it to prevent warm moist air from entering the attic. New fan works great with no wobble and is now sealed better than it ever was.

Sometimes you have to think outside the box.

I see this all the time—older spray foam in crawlspaces with no fire protection in place.

👉 “You need drywall or batts everywhere.”
👉 “Spray it all with DAP / fire coating.”
