No Such Thing as a Slow Day

A slow day in the shop is never actually a slow day! 🔧

Today we're catching up on some much-needed trailer maintenance that has been put off while we've been keeping up with a busy schedule.

The to-do list includes:

* Repacking the bearings
* Installing new wheels and tires
* Checking all the wiring
* Fabricating new set of heavy duty fenders

Three Docks and Counting!!!

Yesterday, another customer picked up their 3rd dock from me this year!! That’s the kind of repeat business that means the world to a small business. 🇺🇸

Their first project was a 40' roll-in dock for their lake home. Then came a 16' roll-in dock for their pond. And now, for their new lake property, they picked up 54' of scissor-truss dock sections!

I’m incredibly thankful for customers who trust me with one project after another. Building quality docks, earning your trust, and becoming your go-to guy is exactly what I strive for every day.

Just before dinner today, I got a call from a truck driver who had broken the aluminum bumper on his semi trailer. He needed to get it fixed and get back on the road as quickly as possible.

It was 93° outside, but I told him, "Why not? Let me eat dinner first."

By the time I got to the shop and rolled the welder out, he was pulling into the driveway. After about 45 minutes of grinding away someone else's less-than-ideal welds, I finally got down to clean aluminum, lined everything back up, and got it welded the way it should have been done the first time.

A short time later, he was safely back on the road and headed to his next stop.
