💪Harnessing Liposome Technology for Selective Control of Macrophage Function

🔬Found in various forms across tissues, from microglia in the brain to Kupffer cells in the liver, macrophages are central to immune regulation. Using clodronate-loaded liposomes, researchers can selectively deplete these phagocytic cells to better understand their roles in health and disease.

🧪 Mechanism of Action: Encapsulated clodronate is phagocytosed by macrophages. Once inside, the liposomes release clodronate, inducing apoptosis in these cells, a precise and effective strategy for temporary immune modulation.

👨‍🔬 Applications:
✅Mechanistic studies in immunology
✅Disease modeling and macrophage function research
✅Exploring therapeutic potentials in inflammation, cancer, and autoimmune conditions
