Mixel Studio was honored to lead an AR lecture and hands-on OXR workshop for Tamkang University’s Nomad Studio at Columbia University GSAPP.

Architecture students explored how OXR can transform existing 3D models into immersive spatial presentations, while faculty from Columbia GSAPP, Parsons, and NYIT discussed its potential for architectural education, remote design reviews, and cross-institutional collaboration.

Special thanks to Professor Jenny T.Y. Ling for making this meaningful exchange possible. We look forward to helping architecture students and educators connect, present, and collaborate beyond physical and geographic boundaries.

We were honored to welcome OCAC Deputy Minister 李妍慧 Yen Hui Lee, representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago, and Taiwanese American community leaders to Mixel Studio at the University of Michigan.

Angela Kujava, Managing Director of the Desai Accelerator, opened the visit by welcoming our guests and introducing the accelerator. Our CEO, Chiao Lin, then shared Mixel Studio’s entrepreneurial journey and introduced OXR. Following the presentation, the delegation put on mixed-reality headsets and experienced OXR firsthand.

We’re excited to share that OXR, has secured an investment from Union Heritage Ventures and joined the firm’s portfolio. This marks our third institutional backing, following investments from the University of Michigan’s Zell Founders Fund through the Desai Accelerator and MSU Red Cedar Ventures through the Conquer Accelerator.

We’re excited to share that OXR has been selected for the Summer 2026 Conquer Accelerator, operated by Michigan State University Research Foundation, and has secured a $20,000 investment to support our next stage of growth.

From early support at the University of Michigan School of Education to real-world pilots with K–12 schools, universities, and museums, Michigan’s innovation ecosystem has played an important role in shaping OXR. Through Conquer and the MSU Research Foundation, we look forward to deepening these relationships and expanding our impact across education, industry, and spatial computing.

OXR won first place at the 2026 TCCNA Global Startup Challenge, receiving the $12,500 prize after competing against a strong finalist group across AI, medical research, hospitality, and immersive technology.

“We were pitching alongside two AI companies and two medical research companies, including one company that was already generating millions in revenue. Given the judges’ backgrounds and the strength of the other finalists, I honestly did not expect XR to be the preferred pick, so I was very surprised and grateful for the result.” said Lin

We are deeply grateful to the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America (TCCNA) organizing team, the judges, and the Taiwanese business community for creating such a meaningful global stage for founders like us.

We’re excited to share that OXR was selected for the AWE Media Walkthrough, one of the featured experiences showcased to attending media at one of the world’s largest XR events.

During the demo, we showcased OXR’s XR Audience Join experience, allowing headset users to join a live session and see spatial content, presenter guidance, and annotations synchronized in real time.

One of our favorite moments was hearing the media crew in the background go, “Woo!” as they experienced it firsthand.

Even better, OXR performed flawlessly despite the spotty conference Wi-Fi. It was a great demonstration of how little bandwidth OXR requires to keep spatial content synchronized across devices in real time.

As XR moves toward lightweight headsets and AR glasses, we believe spatial experiences should be as easy to join as a Zoom meeting. That’s exactly what we’re building with OXR.

Excited to showcase OXR at AWE Long Beach at Booth S16! AWE is one of the largest XR industry gatherings in the world, bringing together the people and companies shaping the future of spatial computing.

At the booth, we’ll be demoing OXR’s cross-device synchronization, where audiences can join the same spatial presentation through both a web browser and XR devices — making immersive content easier to access, present, and share at scale.

We’re also honored that OXR was selected for the AWE media walkthrough. And tomorrow, the AuggieAward winners will be revealed. OXR is a finalist for Best Content Creation Tool, and we’re excited to find out the results alongside so many incredible XR companies.
